Begun in 1997 in Jackson, Mississippi, SunSyne Graphics was founded by our company president, Michael F. Beard. SunSyne's first endeavor was an interpretive sign. Sturdily designed to endure weather extremes, much thought also went into making this product UV and vandal resistant. Our current generation of signs are warranted against color fading for ten years. The next product developed by SunSyne was a driving tour guide of the Civil War campaigns that centered around Corinth, Mississippi, in 1862.
In 1998 the company moved to its current location in Johnson City, Tennessee, and began to evolve into a family company while continuing relationships with the outstanding independent artists we had worked with during the company's history. Michael, an historian with an MA from LSU, continues as our president, providing such services as research, planning, copy writing, copy editing, and project management. Pat, Michael's wife, works part-time in graphic design. Son, John, is our full time graphic designer and photographer.
We have produced tour guide folders for the Civil War campaigns for Corinth, Atlanta, and Mobile and a guide to the antebellum trail in Limestone County, Alabama. We have also provided full-color exterior-grade signage for numerous parks, including Maryland's South Mountain Civil War Battlefield Park, the North Anna Battlefield Park in Virginia, and the Spring Hill Battlefield Park and the Sycamore Shoals State Historic Site in Tennessee. We have also provided interior-grade exhibits for such institutions as the Charleston Museum and the Museum of the 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, New York. Our modern, custom maps are based on a GIS data base. Our thematic tour guide maps are second to none and our shaded relief interpretive maps have been widely praised.
As proud as we are of our traditional products and services, we are now branching out. In addition to our popular interpretive displays and maps, we've listened to our clients and to their customers and have begun publishing frameable posters for sale. We are also now offering general graphic design services, including organizational identity, design of brochures and flyers, web design, custom mapping, photo restoration, digital photography, and supervision of printing.
Whether your organization needs our traditional services or our newer ones, SunSyne's current business is really the same as our old business:
We bring ever-increasing quality
to the graphic services you need.
